Why that ‘magic diet’ won’t work (and what to do about it)

“Sometimes in life, your situation will keep repeating itself until you learn your lesson.”

How true this is, especially when it comes to two things:

Weight loss and relationships.

I have tried quite literally every single ‘diet’ on the market including one that wasn’t on the market – starving myself. Seriously, I tried everything. To be fair most of the diets were successful TO START WITH (one to two weeks tops) but as soon as I got fed up, found it too hard or simply got too hungry and couldn’t cope the weight came straight back on and usually with a bit more on top leaving me feeling worse than I did when I started. Not good.

My experience of coaching others over the past decade suggests that I am definitely not alone where dieting is concerned.

Virtually everyone wants to believe that this time, that magic diet WILL work, that this time they can get to a size whatever (often a totally unrealistic size for them to actually be) and maintain it on shakes and lettuce leaves.

Hence we ALL find ourselves repeatedly in the cycle of weight loss/ weight gain until we are prepared to accept the lesson that is?.. DIETING DOES NOT WORK.

Now the good thing about that is that there is a much EASIER and more ENJOYABLE way to manage your weight that will not only deliver amazing results in the short term, but maintainable results in the LONG TERM (oh and amazing health thrown in too)

We are of course talking about a lifestyle change – a scary thought for many people. It takes faith, it takes patience, it takes guts and it takes support from people who really ‘get you’ and understand what you are trying to achieve, and why.

I guess sometimes you have to go round the dieting cycle a few hundred times before you really accept this lesson, but certainly everyone I’ve helped to lose weight do finally come to this realisation in the end. Phew.

It’s just a much better way.
